Aqif left this morning to Kelantan; his uncle is getting hitched so he'll be staying at his granny's place for 5 days or so. Leaving me [his aunt] bored to death since without him around, the house is quiet...no shouting and crying. Furthermore, I wont be able to celebrate his birthday with him since he'll be in Kelantan :(

To avoid being bored, went out with my parents today; yesyes..I still enjoy going out with them. Had to see the dentist [after a year or so of not]; which made me..RM150 poorer. Mum bought some stuff which didn't quite interest me in any way possible. Then, dad had sudden craving for "nasi kandar". So, we drove down to PJ from KL. After a heavy lunch, I met up with Daniel who was bored waiting for his car to get serviced. So, I asked dad to drop me off at Daniel's friend's place. Was surprised to see Daniel's face sunburnt when he picked me up by cab. The fella is like a cooked lobster [a well-done one]. While waiting for the car to be ready, we talked. He suggested we make a trip down to Melaka this weekend but I couldn't coz of bro's engagement on Sunday. So, I asked him to come over to my house for BBQ. After 2 hours of waiting, the car was done. Went to Cyberjaya to pack his clothes; then picked up Nicki and Jason. They decided to sleep at my house tonight which is good since its been awhile anyway. Right now, Daniel is trying to fix my printer [somehow, I just keep on destroying printers!!], Nicki is painting her toenails, and Jason is trying to annoy me by taking photos of me. It takes plenty of effort to annoy me!

I'm so exhausted right now. Brother took MC coz he's sick and wants to buy stuff for this Sunday [the big engagement day]. Or bertunang; as we Malays would say it. Finally got the ring, the flowers and other stuff. I practically lost weight waking around Klang town today with my nephew in tow. Luckily, we finally found the wedding shop after 30 minutes of walking around aimlessly! The theme was pink on my family's side while Elly's is light green.

This whole bertunang deal is when the male[future groom] side will visit the girl's side to get to know one another. They exchange gifts [usually the girl's side will give more stuff to the guy's side]. In my bro's case, we're giving 5 trays of gifts [the ring, perfume thingy, clothing, flowers, and hmm..I can't remember what]. Elly will then give us back 7 trays of gifts [no idea what]. Then my mum will put on the ring on Elly's finger. So that's the bertunang ceremony.

I'll be starting classes next Monday. Can't believe I'll be graduating by the end of the year [fingers crossed]. Oh yeah, Merdeka to all Malaysians.

After days of being lazy bum, I finally did something productive today...Chasing after my 2 nephews around the house. It was a complete workout from head to toe! Boy, those two brats can really make my blood boil. I think I got like 2 new wrinkle lines from the excitement today. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this Saturday; coz I'm finally able to meet Mark [after alot of cancelling our previous appointments].

This whole deal with that Malay guy is going nowhere. First of all, I know he's still with his girl [that girl is really a basket case, really the jealous thing]. Second, as Em would put it; Shari has the case of commitment-phobia! Yup, once I like a guy or the guy likes me..I go into this whole analytical mindset. I analyze if he's nice, polite, can make me happy so that in the future [if there is one], there will be no heartbreak. No longer can I just go with the flow of things. Since my dear Em told me this, I decided to relax and avoid thinking too much. Life is short and a nice guy is very hard to find nowadays; please point one to me if you able to find one. This guy is really sweet and all so, if he's available the next time I see him...well, you'll never know what Shari will do *winks*

What a great day. Finally went out with him; feeling bad coz at the end of our date, I found out he had to skip one of his classes to meet me. We met up around 1, coz he had to go for his morning classes. Did some stuff [getting documents and all]. I was about to head home [actually, I wanted to go shopping by myself] but he asked if I was free for lunch or just drinks. I said yes [I know how hard it is to meet with him so my answer had to be YES].

He took me to one of his hang outs; just a nice quiet mamak stall [I'll never tell where it was!]. We spent like 3 hours talking without ordering a second drink. I had my usual Iced Nescafe [yummy]. He told I was dieting since I skipped lunch but nowadays, my eating habits are really bad..I snack too much at night. Around 4, we left [he had class in 30 minutes]. As promised, he even give my commission for getting my sis to buy a car from him. I almost got lost, damn those lorries!

At a traffic light [it was a red light at that time], his car was next to mine. He wane down his window [I did the same], we talked until the light turned green [meaning go!]. He asked if it would be alright if we catch a movie someday. I said of course can and he can call me anytime to ask for a date [I prefer him to call since I'm the one who's always free]. Overall, he's the nicest Malay guy I've met so far.

Oh yeah, the haze at my area is getting better [hurray!].

The haze is really bad at my area. The govt even declared haze emergency since the air quality here is "unhealthy". I even got chest pains yesterday; something I haven't had for 2 years now.

I even had to cancel my plans to go out tomorrow with that guy because of the haze. Better stay in doors! The pic here was taken earlier when I was driving home [heading towards West Port] from the Klang town. I heard some "smart" people are still doing open burning even now; how clueless and selfish!!??!! The haze is caused by the forest fires in Sumatra. This is the time when I wished I didn't stay near the sea. Aqif got time off school since the Ministry of Education announced that all schools in Selangor/Kuala Lumpur should be closed till Friday. Hopefully the haze will go away and we, Malaysians can finally take in fresh air.

Right now, I'm feeling so restless. Tim will be leaving for London tomorrow morning; I'm not sending him off coz I'm sick. I've been very tempermental lately too;don't think its PMS coz I just had my monthly visit. Suppose to go out with someone today but he only called me this morning to confirm. Too bad, I had to send Sameir back to his mum's place. I told that I'll go out with him this Friday if nothing else comes up.

Went out with Evonne on Friday. First, to get my exam results. I didn't do that good..could have done better as dad would say. After that, we went to Midvalley to see a movie [Seven Swords]. The movie was ok...too violent for my liking. It was too cold in the cinema that some people actually left; even though the movie was still going on. I actually started to shiver..should have wore the long-sleeve blouse instead. Anyway, I left after the movie was over. Evonne met up with her friends.

Mark wouldn't tell me what he got me. Sigh, I tried guessing but he still keeping it a secret! I hate surprises..especially ones that I can't know! Well, I'm off for a nap.

I'm finally legal to do anything...yahooo.....

My birthday (28/7)
At 12am, Evonne was the first one to sms me [I was cleaning my room at the time]. Then, Em and Lee called from Aus. [we spoke for one hour] Their gift is being couriered to me..probably get it tomorrow or so. Slept around 3am after sending everyone "thank-u" smses for wishing on my b'day. Around 6am, someone called [I have no idea who]. Friends came into my room..surprised me with flowers [daisies]. I was in my pajamas and they only let me wear a jacket over it to go out coz they wanted to take me out for breakfast. I was barely awake when I was sipping my Iced Nescafe. After that, it was time to open up gifts. I got alot of hand-made stuff which I loved [thanks people] The one that I really cherished is from Tim. Thanks dearie. After breakfast, they took me home coz I made plans for lunch.

Met up with Evonne, Beng and Fiona for lunch. It was just Japanese food but it was the friends I was with that mattered the most. Beng got me something from Body Shop [Thank you so much]. We talked and talked then only realised that we were so noisy! Fiona had to work so we said our goodbyes. The three of us just walked around Midvalley..going to one shop to another. I saw a really nice-looking beg from Esprit...I might get it. Around 3 plus, we went home coz Beng had to take care of his granny. On the way home, Daniel called to meet up. We met somewhere in Shah Alam for a drink. Around 5.30pm, I had to leave to get ready for dinner with the family. Took my family for dinner [it was on me]. Aqif gave me a kiss and a hug [I had to asked for it] After dinner, went home, talked to several friends, ate my cake and slept off on the living room's floor. Overall, my birthday celebration was quiet but in a good way. I wanted it to be memorable and it was. Thanks to all my friends for everything. Some photos will be up later. I promise!!!!

Mark is back from his trip. He got me something but I don't know what it is....damnit. I'm really bad at waiting! Tim is leaving on this Friday *pouts*
